Last Chance Y Meet

Need another Y meet to qualify for Y Districts? If so, Kroehler Y is holding their Last Chance Y Meet on February 20th. This meet is only for those swimmers who have not swum the three Y meets (two for HS swimmers) needed to qualify for Y Districts. If you have already qualified for Y Districts, you will not be entered into this meet.

Not sure how many Y meets you've swum? You can check here. This count does NOT include the upcoming dual meet on Feb 5th at OPRF, which will count towards your YMCA Meets.

TOP$WIM T-Shirt

Are you looking for another way to meet your TOP$WIM goal? Do you have some time while school is out to send some letters? Then we have an activity for you. For the first time, we are offering advertising on the back of our TOP$WIM t-shirts to family-friendly businesses for a minimum contribution to the team. Any contributions businesses that you attract make to the team will be put toward your pledge money (and your goal and prize amounts).

Here is a letter that you can print out and send to businesses. Be sure to write your name at the bottom so we know who should get credit for the pledge money. All business donations need to be into Coach Amy by Thursday, January 6, so that we have enough time to print the t-shirts.

Please help us meet our $20,000 team fundraising goal! All squads should have received TOP$WIM information packets during their practices last week. The packet included (PDF links):

  1. Introduction Letter and Prize List
  2. Pledge Request Letter
  3. Pledge Form
  4. Online Pledge Instructions
  5. Cash Receipt

We have many exciting changes for this year, including:

  • New Prizes
    1. The top dollar earners of TOP$WIM (one individual and one family) will get to "cream their coach" at the Claire Statton meet. The top individual dollar earner will also win a Limo Movie Night and private lessons with a TOPS coach
    2. All swimmers meeting their minimum pledge goals ($150 per individual or $250 per family) will be invited to a party with their swimming friends. For Bronze and lower squads, this is a drop-off party at the YMCA on Saturday, January 15, from 6:00-8:30. For Silver and higher squads, this is a movie night with dinner.
    3. Prizes for top squad dollar earners
    4. Raffle prizes for individuals meeting the $150 minimum donation
  • New Swimming Format - laps will be swum during regular practice times.
  • Two Ways To Collect Donations
    1. On-line - Use the activeGiving web site.
    2. Manually - Use the pledge sheet and/or the pledge letter to collect pledges manually. Make checks payable to TOPSWIM

Y Virtual Meet

October 21, 2010

We will be hosting an in-house all squad meet this Friday, October 22 at the Y from 5p-7p. Swimmers should be at the Y ready to swim by 4:30p. We have reserved the multi-purpose room for our holding area. Please note that the swimmers must wear shoes and clothing to go up to the multi-purpose room and there will not be much space on the pool deck.

We still need volunteers. Please contact Coach Amy about volunteering.

2010-11 Short Course Season Registration

Registration for the upcoming short course season is now available!

Register online at the West Cook YMCA. Returning families need to register by September 1st to reserve their spot on the team. We anticipate filling our program to capacity in all Developmental Squads and possibly some of the Age Group Squads. After this date registration will be open to new TOPS swimmers as space allows. If you have any questions concerning registration this fall, please contact the TOPS office at 708-434-0222.
